SVD Centennial Celebration
The Society of the Divine Word in the Philippines is celebrating in 2009 its 100th year of doing mission in the country. The centennial celebration that stretches a three-year period, commenced in June 2007 bearing the theme “WITNESS to the WORD:
WE REMEMBER... WE REJOICE... WE RENEW.” Indeed, we are in the groove for the
SVD Centennial celebration!
The launching of this new SVD Philippine Central Province (PHC) website
is our way of reaching out to every SVD, lay partner, mission partner
and collaborator to bring to them the spirit and significance of the
centennial celebration.
Through this site we hope to bring to you the current and forthcoming
activities of the centennial in the Philippine SVD world, and the SVD
Philippine Central Province, in particular.
We invite you all to join us in REMEMBERING the memories and sacrifices
of doing mission for 100 years; CELEBRATE with us the abundant
blessings and successes reaped through out these years; and one with
you in RENEWING ourselves to the mission bequeathed to us by the
pioneers of the Philippine SVD mission. With you we will look forward
to more years of fruitful missionary service - incarnating the message
of the INCARNATE WORD in communities, and every human circumstance -
becoming everything for everyone. In this manner we continue to WITNESS
TO THE WORD!

Fr. Leonardo Reasonda Estioko SVD (1944-2008)
He was born in Urdaneta, Pangasinan on November 13, 1944 to (the late) Marciano Estioko and Leonor Reasonda. He had 10 brothers and 3 sisters. |

Fr. Joel Thompson L. Maribao SVD (1944-2008)
Fr. Joel was born in Ronda, Cebu on July 13, 1944, the second child in a brood of eight born to Gil Maribao and Enriqueta Llanillo. |

ASPAC Zonal Assembly
The 2008 ASPAC Zonal Assembly gathered in Ledug, Indonesia last September 25-29. It adopted the theme “Abundant Life in the Divine Word” (John 10:10b). |

PHC Common Jubilee Celebration 2008
The annual common jubilee celebration of confreres in the Philippine Central Province was held last 10 September 2008, 3:30pm at the Shrine of the Divine Word, CKMS Compound. Fr. Val Darunday, SVD served as the main presider while Fr. Lino Nicasio, SVD as the homilist during the Eucharistic Celebration.
