Ondoy Updates

Two batches of fratres with some of our SVD priests went to Ateneo for relief operations. Eventually they were deployed to Commonwealth Avenue and Marikina. Another batch composed of three deacons and an SVD priest went to San Roque Parish in Alabang to bring relief goods and help re pack the goods for the affected brothers and sisters around the area.

Relief goods are already packed at DWCL. The Student Services group after a meeting with the Pres. of DWCL launched the campaign to motivate the Divinian family to donate goods, clothins for the victims of Ondoy. Now Fr. Ali is just waiting for the weather here in Bicol to become better  so that he could bring the relief goods to CTM. A Eucharistic celebration was held at DWCL last Wednesday at 4 P.M. at the Audiovisual hall in solidarity with the Ondoy's victims. We wanted our solidarity to be expressed not only through material help but also through prayers. Students, teaching and non-teaching staffs participated. A power point presentation was shown after the gospel to remind us that in 2006 we were the recipients of generous help being the victims of the Reming disaster; now it's our turn to extend help to the victims of Ondoy. Thanks. God Bless.

Thanks for the info about the relief efforts being done by the Central Province.  I got my present province to donate something for the cause.  I wonder whether the details of where to send the aid also applies to help coming from out of the country.  Please advise me as soon as you can since I am also hoping some more aid will be coming from our Mission Office.

Ms. Pura Sumangil (of Bangued, Abra) texted last Saturday (apparently before Abra was battered by Pepeng):

Bishop Jaucian mobilized the Diocese to gather relief goods to send to Antipolo flood victims.
